Have you ever wondered about the dude who actually uses a cheesy pick up line like: “is that a mirror in your back pocket, because I can totally see myself in your pants.”  How about the girl who actually gets picked up and is turned on by one?  Well fellas, it turns out that using a cheesy pick up line for more than just an ice-breaker is hurting your chances of meeting Mrs. Right!

A new study on the act of flirting found that your flirting style plays a big role in who you end up dating, and who you end up having a relationship with.  Researchers found that there were 5 different types of flirting; traditional, physical, sincere, playful and polite.  Whichever one is your predominant method reflects your personality and helps determine who you end up dating.

Unfortunately the study doesn’t give examples of the different flirting styles, but it does say that if you’re looking for a long term partner, “polite and sincere flirting works best”.  So guys, if you ever want to see your new found cutie again, remember these tips; shoot that hot girl across the room a quick smiling glance, but don’t stare, initiate a conversation, just don’t start it with “hey hottie”, and lastly, give her your full attention when she’s talking and ask questions…to her face, not her boobs.
